As the spring season unfolds, 8th graders reflected on three reasons why they like the weather and activities associated with March, April, and May! After drafting a paragraph response - complete with a topic sentence - in homeroom as an extension of English class, students wrote their final copies on a baby chick craftivity to review puns, specifically similar-sounding word play! To encourage variety in the classroom wall display, 8th graders were allowed to color and design their baby bird as any species. Therefore, in addition to the traditional yellow-and-orange baby chicks, students' creativity shone through with baby Dodo birds, baby cardinals, baby bluebirds, baby pigeons, and baby crows!
