To encourage reflective thinking at the end of their final year at HNOM, 8th graders wrote and assembled two punny writing-based crafts for bulletin boards that were set up in the school's main lobby for their graduation breakfast. In preparation for graduation day, 8th graders reminisced about fun events and class projects to write a short, descriptive paragraph about their favorite memory from this "ONE IN A MELON" school year with their perseverance through 2020-2021 with the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, 8th graders reflected on themselves to assemble owl crafts that read, "OWL ALWAYS BE AMAZING." Personalized, pun-filled bulletin boards were a fitting send-off for the 8th grade due to the word play's inclusion in their E.L.A. curriculum!
8th graders reflected on their favorite memory from this "ONE IN A MELON" school year! Just lift the watermelon flaps for a short, descriptive paragraph from each graduate in which they recalled their Adventureland trip, field day, research projects in religion class, and "Mystery Magi," Halloween pun costumes, and an Edgar Allan Poe unit from English class!
The bulletin boards greeted 8th graders in the school lobby before they entered their graduation breakfast in the gym!
