Kindergarten (5 Year Old)
Our Kindergarten students participate in numerous activities that build self-esteem and promote learning. Our students begin each day with prayer and our Catholic faith is the cornerstone on which the kindergarten program is built. We have high academic expectations in a developmentally appropriate program. For our Kindergarten students must be 5 prior to December 31st of the year of their enrollment.
A Typical Day:- The students participate in prayer every morning.
- Our program is center based where students learn math, reading, writing, science, and social studies in small groups, facilitated by the teacher and assisted by the classroom aide.
- Students attend: Spanish, Art, Music and Library weekly. There is also to option of learning an instrument (at an additional cost).

1st-5th Grade
All students in Grades 1st-5th are exposed to a diverse array of learning activities that support the Next Generation Standards and develop skills for literacy, math, science problem solving, critical thinking, and faith formation.
In addition to benefiting from the excellent academics that HNOM offers, which meet NY State and Diocese of Rockville Centre standards, our elementary students participate in numerous activities. From the elementary poetry recital to an annual science/STEM fair, our students learn to appreciate and utilize their gifts and talents. Students are also prepared for First Eucharist and Reconciliation.

Kindergarten: Our kindergarten teachers are certified through NYS in Birth-Grade 2 or Birth-Grade 6
1st-5th Grade: Teachers are NYS certified and they are interviewed by myself and my Asst. Principal.

Yes! We have a full time registered nurse provided through Valley Stream District 24.

- Our students participate in NYS Math and ELA Assessments in Grades 4 and 6.
- Our students participate in NYS Science Assessments in Grade 5
- Our students in Grade 8 participate in the NYS Algebra I Regents and the Living Environment Regents
- Our students take the i-Ready Diagnostics in Kindergarten through Grade 8 (3 times a year.)

- We use small group instruction through workshop models in ELA and Math.
- i-Ready My Path provides personalized instruction for students and lessons for teachers to help bridge gaps.
- Our students also use iXL where they are assigned skills by their teacher.

Drop-off is at 8:10am and pick up is at 2:45pm. Students usually arrive at around 7:45 am and have time to socialize with friends.

- B.A.S.E (fee) - after school care until 5:45pm

HNOM offers AIS services in both Reading and Math. We also receive services from the Valley Stream public school district to support students with IEPs.

Tuition is made in 10 monthly payments (August through May).
