After learning about the different properties of elements - like carbon and helium - 8th graders represented their scientific understanding by creating original superheroes whose strengths, weaknesses, and physical appearance (i.e. colors, etc.) reflected an element. Project-based learning appeals to diverse learning styles and encourages creative thinking.  8th graders loved the unique assignment that Mrs. Powell - our middle school science teacher for Grades 6-8 - created!
