When Winter Storm Orlena created whiteout conditions from Sunday night into Monday evening, HNOM School closed for a traditional "Snow Day." The decision overjoyed 8th graders, who feared that remote learning advances due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic would completely eliminate the possibility - and thus magic - of a true snow day. With snowfall estimates between 8 to 15 inches for Nassau County, 8th graders embraced the wintry wonderland. However, they were are ready to transition to virtual lessons the next day as safety concerns associated with the inclement weather persisted.
8th graders saw an opportunity to help when the wintry weather hit, so some students did some snow shoveling! Way to go, 8th grade!
8th graders also had fun in the snow and built snowmen!
