Even with the Algebra Regents scheduled a week and a half after they graduated and deemed optional this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all seven 8th grade Algebra students dedicated themselves to the cumulative final exam and returned daily the week of Mon. 6/14 for an hour test prep course with their mathematics teachers, Mrs. DeRosa. So 8th graders returned for the three-hour high school-level test today, spacing out their desks and acknowledging the bright and early start with humor: "This is the earliest we've ever taken a math test," commented one student. But they were eager and happy to take the assessment . Keep up the hard work in high school, 8th grade! We are so proud of you!
Even with the unanticipated unusability of their typical Algebra classroom due to end-of-the-year cleaning, the 8th graders easily moved into Mrs. DeRosa's homeroom classroom to take the test!
