During CSW´s ¨Celebrate Your Community¨ theme day, 8th graders wore crazy hats. From homemade designs with pipe cleaners, pom-poms, and hot glue to warm, furry hunting hats (reminiscent of Holden Caulfield´s signature red hunting cap!), 8th graders enjoyed the small privilege of wearing a hat during the school day!
To reach out into the Valley Stream community, HNOM school hosted a ¨Souper Bowl¨ Can Drive. The 8th graders appreciated the event´s similar-sounding word play (¨soup-er¨ v. ¨super¨). From classic tomato and chicken noodle to creamy mushroom and minestrone, 8th graders donated many soup varieties to HNOM Parish´s Food Pantry. In gym class, they were able to compete in a field goal competition by kicking a football through goal posts. Congratulations to Jonathan and Angel - the two 8th graders who made the kick and won Dress Down cards!
