Spider relays, orange balloon juggling, a hay search-and-find, and mummy wraps kept 8th graders entertained all night at the PTL's annual middle school Halloween Party. A live D.J. was even able to draw some students to the dance floor! While Grade 7 struggled with following directions and team play, cooperation characterized Grade 8's participation in the spooky games! Creative costumes were plentiful. From Supergirl and skeletons to black cats, creepy clowns, and cops, 8th graders dressed up for the Halloween fun!
Dressed as a pineapple and Velma from Scooby Doo, several PTL parents did a great job organizing the games, scooping up strands of leftover mummy wrap, and decorating the gymnasium with spider-webs, ghostly balloon bouquets, and witch-leg garland! Mrs. Sanders, Miss Ciminelli, and Ms. Brown joined the Halloween fun for a night of friendly competition.
7th and 8th grade students searched frantically through a bucket of hay for cereal box pieces so their classmates could assemble a Corn Flakes or Frosted Flakes box. Since some hid their opponent's pieces upside down on the hay-dusted table, the teams played some tricks on each other.
By enveloping their classmates from head to toe in strands of white paper, 8th graders mummified each other in races againist the clock.
Rubbery spiders jiggled in the red cups as all grades (5-8) raced to pick up the creepy crawlers with chop sticks and deposit them in a cup across the table.
Diving and stretching to ensure their orange balloons didn't touch the gym floor, 8th graders kept their balloons in the air with some talented juggling!
Gigantic versions of classic games - like Jenja and Connect 4 - provided some calmer, but still strategic, fun for Grade 8!
