8th Graders Commit to Confirmation Preparation at the Rite of Enrollment
November17,2019
At Holy Name of Mary's church, 8th graders attended the 10:30 a.m. Mass and celebrated the Rite of Enrollment, which is a ceremony where students officially pledge their commitment to preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Leading into the ceremony, Deacon James's homily reminded students that difficult times, persecution, and world turmoil must not sway us from the hard work of living in God's name: "Stand firm. Do not be misled...Persevere." Father Edmund then presided over the Rite of Enrollment. Students stood, took a pledge with their sponsors, and handed in their promise forms to a basket on the altar.
