Dear Parents,
This week we will be learning about birds and chicks and how they hatch from eggs. We will observe real nests, read books and do many egg crafts. We will read the book "Rechenka's Eggs" and decorate a beautiful egg like in the story.
The letter of the week is U and we will be continuing to do Easter crafts.
All During Lent we will be reading stories and learning about Jesus' life. For Lent we are having the children pray more each morning for their special intentions. Please continue to send back the slip of paper each week for the prayer jar. The children are really enjoying this morning activity. Also have your child put money into their rice bowls for Lent. It is so important to teach them compassion for others less fortunate than themselves. These rice bowls are due back Holy Week.
This week we continuing to learn more about Lent using Resurrection Eggs which tells the Easter Story simply for children to understand. We are also going to learn about St. Joseph. His Feast Day is March 19.
Thursday, March 21 is Parent-Teacher Conferences and an early dismissal day. (11:00 am)
This conference is optional. I am happy to meet with anyone who wishes to see me. I have the sign up sheet available for anyone who wants to make an appointment. Please see me to sign up.
Tuesday, March 26 will be our class Easter Party. Please send in one white hard boiled egg for your child to color.
Wednesday, March 27 is a half day (11:00 am) and the last day of school before Easter vacation.
