School Service Program (Grades 7-8)To become more active members of the HNOM school community, 7th and 8th grade students receive the opportunity to help teachers before-school, after-school, or during their recess period. Through an application process, middle school students express interest in the various volunteer opportunities and reflect on the responsibility and commitment needed to excel in the program.
School service counts toward the 8th grade's required 15 hours of service for Confirmation. See the parish website for more information about Confirmation:Holy Name of Mary Parish - Confirmation
Example volunteer opportunities include helping Nursey students with lunch, cutting, pasting, and crafting to help elementary teachers prepare projects or create manipulatives, organizing and maintaining the middle school library system, and putting up and taking down chairs in elementary classrooms.
